When Emotions Take Over, Logic Steps Back
When it comes to decision-making, most of us use our heart and emotions. Logic often takes a back seat.
If you think about a computer, it does the exact opposite. It runs purely on logic.
And that’s both the beauty and the weakness of being human.
The good part is that emotions make us compassionate. We care. We understand others. We show empathy. A purely logical system can’t do that.
But at the same time, emotions can also mislead us.
Let me give a simple example.
Imagine someone says something hurtful to you. Immediately, your emotions take over. You feel like responding, proving your point, or even hurting them back.
In that moment, it feels right.
But later, when you think about it calmly, you realize it wasn’t even worth your time. The argument didn’t change anything. It only disturbed your peace.
That’s where logic would have helped.
I strongly believe that some decisions should be made with logic, not emotions.
Without realizing it, we take many emotional decisions that cost us time, energy, and peace. We hold on to things, argue over things, and carry unnecessary burdens.
But when you step back and apply logic, you start seeing things clearly.
You realize some things are just not worth it.
Some fights are unnecessary.
Some attachments are just dead weight.
Some situations are better left alone.
In the end, it’s better to live peacefully than to keep fighting battles that don’t matter.
Not every decision needs your heart.
Some decisions need your mind.
